In Episode 6, Carmen travels to Australia. Take your kids on a virtual field trip of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and learn more about the landscape and the local Anangu people.

Activity Instructions

As a class, take a virtual walkthrough Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Australian Outback.

Estimated Time: 25–40 minutes

Materials Needed: Computer with projector, speakers if available

  1. Using a projector, explore Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park as a class. The park’s website contains many amazing photographs and facts, as well as a Google® Street View walk.
  2. As you explore, explain that since the area is sacred to the Anangu people, climbing Uluru is discouraged, and a law prohibiting it goes into effect in 2019.
